Tiruchi (Tamil Nadu): A trans teenager from Tamil Nadu's Tiruchi, Hariharan is all determined to become a cop. Hariharan had made up his mind to become a police official the day when he saw police personnel rescuing a group of transgender people and saving them from a violent mob. He wants to be one of them who could represent the voiceless section of society.

It was when he was in class five, that Hariharan realised that he is a transgender. However, his family members did not accept it and subjected him to abuse and harassment. He was forced to live like a boy. However, three months back he met another trans person, Angel, who was living nearby helped him to get out of the house and work towards living a respectful life.

Hariharan was enrolled in Class 11 at Sri Sivananda Balalaya institution. He was also the first trans teen to stay in residential school. The idea behind this hostel facility was that children like Hariharan do not drop out of school.

Angel, who helped Hariharan, said that he could not study beyond class 9 as his family threw him out. That is why Angel helped out Hariharan.

Hariharan aspires of him being a sub-inspector and is thinking to get the gender reassignment surgery done when he is 18.

Trans community has always been subjected as people who beg on the streets, train stations, or dancing in festivities to earn their livelihood. However, many from the trans community have broken this stereotype. One of the many is, 23-year-old Trinetra Haldar Gummaraju, who is the Karnataka's first trans-woman surgeon.

Fighting all odds, the 23-year-old trans-woman, is now interning with the Kasturba Medical Hospital, Manipal. She has massive Instagram followers of 95.7K. She has been experiencing online harassment for being vocal about her transformation and supporting the LGBTQ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer). She has been fighting to educate these trolls on the prejudices associated with the LGBTQ community.
