Two Alibag jail staffers suspended for allowing Arnab Goswami use cell phone

Mumbai: two jail staffers of Alibagh prison were suspended as they allowed Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami use mobile phone.

Goswami was lodged at the makeshieft quarantine center in Alibag civic school, with the other accused were kept in an abetment of suicide case of Anvay Naik. The staffers named Subedar Anand Bhere and Sachin Wade, got suspended on Tuesday.

The jail superintendent alleged that Goswami was active on social media while in custody.

On Sunday the Raigad police shifted Goswami to Taloja jail in Navi Mumbai after they discovered that he was active on social media while in judicial custody.
