New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the list of the last recommended candidates for the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2019, on Monday. The last recommended list of candidates, which has the names of 89 candidates is available on the official website of UPSC.

Earlier, the result of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2019 was declared on August 4, 2020. The UPSC recommended 829 candidates in Group A, and 927 candidates in Group B in the results declared in August last year. The 829 candidates in Group A is for the appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and Central Services, while the 927 candidates in Group B are for the different vacancies.

As sought by the Department of Personnel and Training, UPSC has recommended 89 new candidates, to fill up the remaining posts of the Civil Services Examination, 2019. Out of these 89 candidates, 73 of them belongs to the General category, 14 of them belongs to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category, one of them belongs to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, and the remaining one belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category. The recommended candidates will be intimated directly by the Department of Personnel and Training.

The following four candidates bearing the roll numbers: 0404736, 0835241, 6603686 and 2100323 are provisional. The result of one candidate has been kept withheld.

The Commission, in accordance with Rule 16 (4) and (5) of the Civil Services Examination Rules, was maintaining a Consolidated Reserve List in order of merit below the last recommended candidates under the respective categories.

The official notice by the commission also mentioned that the Reserve List of Civil Services Examination, 2019, is subject to changes, if any, that may be necessitated by the orders that may be passed by the Hon'ble Courts in the matters, which are pending before them.
