Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat contributes Rs 5 Crore for Assam flood victims

Guwahati: In a great relief for the Assam flood victims and the Assam government who is looking for financial assistance from people and neighbouring states to tackle the issue of flood, Uttarakhand government has announced to make a donation of whopping Rs 5 Crore. As the present situation in Assam is particularly pitiful with thousands of villages submerged by floodwater along with the livestock and the cultivation in the state being completely destroyed by the floodwater ravages, such monetary donations by a fellow Indian state is particularly exemplary and commendable.

The announcement on the donation for Assam floods has been made by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat who after taking stock of the prevailing flood situation in Assam, decided to make the aforementioned contribution. The Uttarakhand CM is making the donation directly to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Rawat took stock of the Assam flood by talking to Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal over the phone. He also took to express his compassion for the flood-affected people and animals of the state. In addition to this, he took to eulogize the timely flood relief and rescue operation took up by the Assam government.

In return, Assam CM Sonowal too expressed his gratitude over the kind gesture of the Uttarakhand CM Rawat. His twitter post reads:

The conversation between the two CMs also included the Uttarakhand Cm’s assurance to Assam CM that the state is ready to extend full support to the Assam government in order to mitigate the devastation caused by the floods.
