Virat Kohli in trouble for washing his cars with drinking water

The Indian cricket team skipper, though famous and loved for his unmatchable sporting traits, is however not in the good books of the Gurugram municipal corporation. Although this has not been done directly by Kohli but letting his house help wash his cars through the drinking water supplied by the municipal corporation, he certainly is not doing good. At a time, when people in many places of India are suffering from an acute shortage of pure drinking water, a sight of wasting it for fruitless reasons would certainly irk the onlookers.

Incidentally, when Kohli’s domestic help was washing the cars with drinking water, the municipal corporation officer gave a sudden visit to witness the wastage of water on their own and then charged him with a fine of Rs 500.

Kohli is a resident of DLF Phase 1 of Gurugram and his neighbours in the locality are of the opinion that Kohli is often found to have misused water for washing the cars through his domestic help. As Kohli has around half a dozen cars, this matter of misusing the drinking water is worth a worry. The very process of washing the cars takes a thousand liters of water being wasted.

When at a time the heat is climbing high with people hydrating and wanting more and more drinking water, this is high time that people should learn to save water and avoid wasting it. The shortage of water is more in North India in comparison to other parts of the country and Gurugram, also, is also facing scarcity of potable water.

However, in addition to Kohli’s residence, ten other houses were also fined by the Municipal Corporation on the same grounds. A clear warning has been passed by the Gurugram Corporation Commissioner against the wastage of water and says that such offenses will not be tolerated with strict action to be taken.
