Woman Cricketer Found Hanging Inside Forest In Odisha
Swain’s family claimed that their daughter was murdered as the body was spotted with some bruises and her eyes were damaged.

CUTTACK : A woman cricketer of Odisha who went missing on the 11th of January, was found dead inside a forest in Cuttack district on Friday. The cops recovered Rajashree Swain's scooter near the dense forest, informed a police personnel.
Police spotted the 26 year old cricketer hanging in a tree. Deputy Commissioner of police, Pulak Mishra stated that, an unnatural death has been reported regarding the matter. Her body was hanging from a tree in Athagarh area's Gurudijhatia forest.
The matter will go through a thorough investigation, added Mishra. The department awaits for the autopsy reports through which the case will receive a clarity. The deceased was originally from Puri district and arrived at the region to participate in a training camp conducted by the Odisha Cricket Association for the national level tournament.
However, she failed to secure a position in the team of 16 member for the tournament which will take place in Puducherry. Swain's roommate informed that, the deceased was extremely sad after the names were announced for the tournament.
She cried on Wednesday inside her hotel room and left the place without any information. As Swain was not available on her phone, a missing complaint was registered at the Mangalabag police station in Cuttack. The FIR was filed by coach of the team, Pushpanjali Banerjee.
The case got a new turn as Swain's family claimed that their daughter was murdered as the body was spotted with some bruises and her eyes were damaged. The deceased's parents stated that, Swain despite a showcasing good performance was not given a chance in the 16 member team.
The CEO of the association denied the allegation, and informed that the selection process was done in a very transparent manner. Subrat Behera, the CEO further asserted that if there was any sort of biases, then she would not have make it to the 25 member team.
