11 persons injured in separate road mishaps on Christmas day in Shillong

Shillong: A total of 11 persons were injured in separate road mishaps on Christmas day.

In the first incident, one Eddison Warbah (17) sustained injuries as the bike he was riding skidded at Mawlai Syllaikariah around 1:13 am. The victim was shifted to Civil Hospital.

One lady, Anushree Paul (30) sustained injuries as the person who drove the vehicle she was travelling in, felt dizzy and hit the safety railing at Byrnihat in Ri-Bhoi district at around 6:47 am. The victim was shifted to GNRC.

Meanwhile, a learner driving a Maruti car went and hit a group of people who were on a Christmas carol on the road side at Raja Apal in North Garo Hills. Four women including three minors - Menalis Momin(40),Chima Marak(12), Tulika Sangma(12) and Tamat Sangma(6) suffered minor injuries. They were immediately shifted to Bajengdoba PHC. Silias Rymbai( 28) and Dilip Langdon(27) sustained minor injuries in which the Maruti car they were travelling in went and hit a truck and an Alto car. The duo has been shifted to Khliehriat CHC.

Moreover, Tapos Saha (30) sustained injuries when the scooty he was driving hit an electric pole. The victim was shifted to Tura Civil Hospital. Further, Jiedlang Khongsit (35) and Rapai Gunin (45) sustained injuries as the Auto (Pick up) overturned in a turning point due to loss of control. The victims were shifted to NEIGRIHMS.
