2 Militants Killed in Gunfight with Army in Jammu and Kashmir

An operation launched by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Badgam district led to the killing of two militants on Thursday.

Stating the incident of the encounter with the militants, police stated, “Security forces launched an operation based on credible inputs about the presence of militants in Zagoo locality of Khansahib area in the district. The hiding militants fired at the security forces triggering the gunfight. Searches are ongoing in the village."

As stated by the police, militants opened fire on the security forces during the search operation which led the armed forces to opt for a counter-attack.

Police further states, "During the exchange of fire, two militants were neutralized. Their identities are being ascertained.”
