21 People including Young Children Found inside a Refrigerated Lorry at a British Port

Guwahati: A group of 21 people, among whom 12 are children, are found stowed inside a refrigerated lorry that carries sparkling water. The lorry is recovered at a British port on Wednesday.

Border force recovered the group of people at the port of Newhaven, south England and as per police reports, the people in the group are from Vietnam. Police further states that the group of people included 15 children.

A criminal investigation is underway and the primary probe found that a Romanian man, thought to be the driver is charged with assisting the group in unlawful entry into the UK.

The group contains six adults of whom two are adults and were removed from the UK. While the other four went to immigration detention centres while their cases were assessed.

The recovered children are found in sound health and do not require medical treatment. All the children are placed in the care of social services
