Speaking to The Sentinel, Amita said, “I was able to meet with Agnes after she was discharged from the hospital and we have decided to move forward with our demand for a CBI inquiry.”

“The government are always denying that there is illegal mining of coal however I want request both the Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma if need I will take them to various locations in Jaintia Hills where illegal coal mining still continues,” she said.

She also said that the Ministers in the government should put their seat of power behind them provide adequate security so she can guide them to the different illegal coal mines.
