GUWAHATI: The much awaited Annual General Meeting of the Assam Cricket Association will be held at the ACA stadium, Barsapara here tomorrow. The new Apex Council of the association will be constituted in the meeting which will start at 10am.

Every Annual General Meeting of the Assam Cricket Association makes an issue of sorts. And this time around, it is being the most talked about with ACA election fever gripping the cricket fraternity. Election would be held for three posts of the Apex Council which included President, Treasurer and Vice President.

Present secretary Pradip Buragohain will contest against current Vice President Romen Dutta for the post of president. The contest for vice president post would be between Paikshit Dutta and Preetam Konwar, while Prakash Deka and Tridib Konwar will fight for the post of Treasurer.

Among the 33 affiliated units of the Assam Cricket Association this time 30 were eligible to attend the Annual General Meeting and cast vote. The names of representatives for other three units-Karimganj, Guwahati University and Dibrugarh University - were rejected because of different reasons.

It may be mentioned here that three candidates-Devajit Saikia, Kamakhya Saikia and Saibal Sengupta already elected uncontested for the post of Secretary, Joint Secretary and member of Apex Council.
