Army Commander Meets Governor Tathagata Roy & CM Conrad Sangma

Shillong: Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command called on the Governor of Meghalaya Tathagata Roy at his office on Thursday. During a fruitful interaction, the GOC-in-C discussed a number of issues with the Governor to include internal security and empowerment of Ex-servicemen of Meghalaya. After meeting the Governor, the GOC-in-C also called on Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma and discussed various issues to include Internal Security and Disaster Management. He assured the Chief Minister of continued and enhanced Civil-Military interaction and cooperation in future. The GOC-in-C was accompanied by Lieutenant General DS Ahuja, General Officer Commanding, 101 Area.

The Eastern Army Commander was in Shillong to visit and review the operational preparedness of Headquarters 101 Area. During his visit, the Army Commander was also briefed at Headquarters Eastern Air Command and Directorate General of Assam Rifles.
