Arunachal Pradesh scripts record high revenue generation

Itanagar: The BJP government in Arunachal Pradesh government has remarkably succeeded in increasing the state revenue generation in the past two years with the record revenue collection of Rs 1598.49 crore during the year 2017-18.

“There has been a visible improvement in work culture in last two years. The ‘Team Arunachal’ mantra has ignited minds of the employees to deliver for good to the people of the state. This resulted in multiplying the state revenue from its past collection,” official sources informed here on Friday.

“For past 30 years since we attained Statehood in 1987, the revenue generation of the state never touched the mark of 1000 crore. But due to the concerted effort and hard work of the state government and its dedicated officers the revenue generation shot a record new height at Rs 1253.57 crore in 2016-17 an increase of Rs 326.39 crore from its previous collection that stood at Rs. 927.23 crore in past 30 years,” the sources said.

In 2017-18 the income stood at Rs 1598.49 crore and the state government is putting all out effort to reach the Rs. 2000 crore milestone in 2018-19.

The source of revenue generation by the state government includes, share of central taxes, state taxes among others.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu during a recent meeting had said that the past one year of the BJP government in the state had been significant in terms of action, performance and effective deliverance of all round development. “During the period, the state has witnessed faster change, greater transparency and unprecedented development in all sectors,” the chief minister had said in the meeting.
