Assam bandh paralyses routine life in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: AASU along with 30 other ethnic organizations observed an 11 hours Assam bandh which was also consented by various other parties and organizations on Tuesday.

The bandh completely crippled the regular life of the city. The market hub of the city, Fancy Bazaar saw a complete halt of business.

Tires were burnt in Guwahati Club, Pattharquarrey, Beltola, Khanapara, Hengrabari, Ganeshguri, Hatigaon, Dharapur, Azara, and other places. Stones were pelted towards mobile motor vehicles while some were damaged by bandh supporters.

The route towards Airport from Dharapur through SOS Children’s Home was blocked by the supporters. Police has apprehended bandh supporters from various areas of the city.
