Assam Girl Hima Das termed India’s Youth Ambassador by UNICEF

Guwahati: In a pleasing and proud moment for Hima Das and all her fans and admirers in Assam, UNICEF has announced that it has now appointed the lightning-fast sprinter as India’s Youth Ambassador. The International agency for emergency food and healthcare to children in countries devastated by World War II, made this announcement at a special event on 14 November.

Whale Hima Das has shot to fame with all her hard work and untiring effort, she has turned into a youth icon for most of the sportspersons and youngsters in the nation. Also termed as the ‘Dhing Express’, Hima Das is a role model worth following for the new generation of the nation and the world and that is what is being portrayed by the UNICEF while signing her as the youth ambassador.

As a Youth Ambassador, Hima would have to work towards raising awareness about the rights and needs of children along with also helping in amplifying the voices of children and young people. She will be responsible for encouraging the youth and children towards being active participants in decision making and contributing to their holistic development.
