Bengal Didi loses her sleep after two phase polls: Narendra Modi

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an attack on West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerjee saying that her model of governance is based on corruption, conspiracy against the poor and appeasement adding that Banerjee is nervous with the Lok Sabha polling of the first two phases.

Addressing a rally at Buniadpur in West Bengal, the Prime Minister said that the reports of polling in the first two phases of Lok Sabha elections in Bengal have put a brake on Didi's speed breaker and that she has lost her sleep.

Modi further said that the BJP workers are being attacked in Bengal as the Trinamool Congress is upset with the kind of support the Modi government has received in the first two phases of polling.

He also stated that one more worker of the BJP has been killed in Purulia adding that 'har atyachar ka nyay hoga' (there will be justice for every atrocity). He said that strict punishment will be given to those resorting to violence in Bengal.

Narendra Modi also slammed Banerjee for allowing people from the neighbouring country to campaign for her party in the state saying that it is shameful that people from the neighbouring country are campaigning for TMC which was done by the party to appease the minority community.

Modi also criticized the TMC Chief for seeking proof of the Balakot air strikes in Pakistan and asked her to collect evidence against those behind chit fund scams instead of asking proof for the sir strike launched by the Indian Air Force.

The Prime Minister has addressed the rally for the third phase of polls which will held in five parliamentary constituencies- Balurghat, Malda Uttar, Malda Dakshin, Murshidabad and Jangipur.

The BJP has set an ambitious target of winning 23 of the 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal as the party had won only two seats in the last parliamentary election five years ago and therefore, the party has been campaigning aggressively in Bengal targeting the Banerjee government over a range of issues.
