Biswanath Police recovers illegal firearms during Naka checking, Four arrested

Biswanath: Acting on a tip-off, Biswanath Police under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Muzaffar Hussain carried out an operation recovered around 20 round live ammunition, one 303 rifles and one silencer from one Alto car bearing registration number AS 02L 2367 on Wednesday evening.

Speaking to the media, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Muzaffar Hussain informed that as per inputs provided by the Biswanath Superintendent that some suspected people were carrying illegal firearms in a private car.

“Based on the information, our police team established a Naka checking nearby the Biswanath Sadar Police Station. During the operation, one silver colour Alto car was spotted and accordingly we conducted a search operation inside the car and recovered the illegal firearms from their possession,” said DSP Hussain.

Meanwhile, police had arrested four persons including one woman from the spot.

The arrested persons were identified as Ahmed Ali, Reena Begum, Imran Ali and Hasan Ali were reported to be from the same family and they hail from Changmazi village in Doboka.

Following the recovery of the illegal firearms, Police is also suspecting them to be as Rhino Poachers. “We are investigating the matter, it will be tough to comment about the matter as of now, our investigations are on,” added the DSP.
