BPF will re-capture Kokrajhar parliamentary seat in 2019: Hagrama Mohilary

Kokrajhar: President of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), Hagrama Mohilary on Tuesday claimed that his party would recapture Kokrajhar parliamentary seat in the 2019 election with the support of all communities. A meeting of the central working committee of the BPF was held on Tuesday at Bodofa Cultural Complex, Kokrajhar followed by general meeting of the party. The meeting discussed several core issues, including the election.

Talking to reporters, BPF president Hagrama Mohilary said his party would win the Kokrajhar parliamentary seat in the 2019 election as the communal and polarized campaign of a certain communal force would not work this time. He said the BPF had been working for all-round development of all communities in the region. He also said the BPF would field candidate only in Kokrajhar HPC in the forthcoming election but would support BJP and AGP candidates in other seats.

Mohilary said there had been problems of insurgency. He said peace talks were going on with different militant outfits. He urged the Government of India to find out amicable solution. At the same time, he also said different communities had different problems and these problems should be addressed. His party would help to solve problems of all communities, Mohilary assured. Welcoming 2019, he hoped that the new year would be a peaceful one. In a significant move, there had been separate meetings between the president of NDFB (Progressive), Dhiren Boro, general secretary of NDFB (Ranjanda), B. Anjalu and president of Boro Women Justice Forum (BWJF), Anjali Daimary.
