Cattle farm owner in Sadiya abducted by ULFA (I)

TINSUKIA: Three suspected armed ULFA (I) militants kidnapped Khem Bahadur Chetri (50), owner of a cattle farm, from Bagkhuli Chapori under Saikhowaghat PS in Sadiya police district on Saturday evening. According to information, the ULFA (I) served extortion notice to Chetri a few days back which he failed to comply. He hails from Dhekiajan in Digboi. A massive operation has been launched by Sadiya Superintendent of Police Debojit Deori along with the Army to rescue the kidnapped person.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Agarwal, ADG (Law and Order), visited Saikhowa on Tuesday to oversee rescue operation. Simultaneous operations have been launched in all chaporis of River Brahmaputra adjoining Arunachal Pradesh, according to a source.
