Hamren: Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang and his team visited Murap village along the Karbi Anglong-Meghalaya border area on Tuesday. It is one of the remotest areas in Karbi Anglong under Chingthong constituency where no CEM of KAAC has set foot since 1951. CEM Ronghang revealed the plan to install solar lights in 225 houses in Murap through CM’s Special Package at the earliest. “Work for construction of metal and black topping road under Chingthong constituency is underway and 80 per cent of work execution for levelling of metal and cutting of earth is almost done,” said Rongkhang.

He further said that proper healthcare facilities would be provided to the people of Murap and for this he had already issued direction to the EM i/c Medical Department, Khonsing Rongpi to construct medical sub-centre soon and to bring the village into the connectivity network and to develop educational facilities in the remotest area. For availability of potable drinking water facilities, schemes will be undertaken after consultation with the local MAC and also i/c PHE department, said the CEM.

KAAC Speaker Longki Timung, Deputy Speaker Ritesh Enghi, MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi and local MAC and EM Prodeep Rongpi accompanied the CEM and interacted with the people living in the border areas at Murab playground on Tuesday.
