Chandrababu Naidu Government withdraws General Consent to the CBI

Guwahati: As a latest permission availed by Chandrababu Naidu government, the CBI cannot conduct raids or investigations in Andhra Pradesh without permission. The government, in a recent action, has withdrawn "general consent" to the CBI or Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as a result of which the CBI will not be allowed to operate any sort of investigation in the state.

A leader of the ruling party says that the permission has been withdrawn now and so the CBI cannot "interfere" in any case in Andhra Pradesh.

The order of withdrawing CBI's free pass in Andhra Pradesh, treated to be a "confidential" order, was issued on November 8 and this is three months after the state government allowed the CBI to exercise its powers and jurisdiction in the state. Later, the confidential order was leaked out on Thursday.
