Contradiction in Meghalaya Democratic Allaince Comes To Fore

Shillong: The Meghalaya Democratic Allaince (MDA) dispensation has vividly displayed its own contradiction in the name of unity. An MDA meeting held in Shillong on Thursday was chaired by the Chief Minister Conrad K.Sangma and attended by all the constituents of the alliance.

According to inside sources, all the constituents vouched to extended their support to Conrad K Sangma in the upcoming by-polls to ensure his continuity as the Chief Minister of the State.

Adviser to the Government Thomas K Sangma admitted to The Sentinel that the MDA meeting did focus on the issue of garnering the support of all the parties for Conrad K Sangma’s victory from South Tura seat. However, it was a different story in respect of the Ranikor seat. The NPP, the UDP and the PDF have their own respective candidates fielded for the by-election scheduled on August 23. The Sentinel categorically questioned three Ministers, namely Prestone Tynsong, Metbah Lyngdoh and Hamletson Dohling. However, they dodged the question.
