Darrang police launch drive against illicit liquor

MANGALDAI: In the continuous drive against the flourishing illicit trade of smuggled IMFL and country liquor which has posed as a threat to the civil society, Darrang Police busted a good number of liquor dens in various places of the district.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ), Mamoni Hazarika as per instruction of the Superintendent of Police Amrit Bhuyan, led a police team to conduct an operation in Patharighat, Bordoulguri, Dipila and Kharupetia and seized a number of IMFL bottles and packets of illicit country liquor from the possession of the traders. Though the anti-social elements managed to escape from the dragnet of the police, the police registered case as per the provision of the law.
