Delhi University announces first cut-off list, Hindu College cut off is the highest at 99%

New Delhi: Right ahead of the admissions into the Delhi University colleges, the first cut-off list for the undergraduate courses are out on Thursday. With the lists of cut-off mark released by the colleges, it has come to light that Hindu College has the highest cut-off for science courses. The cut-off mark reveals that for Physics Honours in the college, students with 98.3 percent will only be eligible.

For admission into Statistics and Mathematics honours in Hindu college, a cut off mark is 97.75.

For admission into political science, the highest score of 99 percent is compulsory. However, for admission into BA programme (Psychology Honours) in Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College, the cut-off mark is 98.75 percent. For Economics Honours in Sri Ram College of Commerce, the cut-off mark is 98.75 percent and in the same subject, Ramjas offers a cut-off at 98%. Hansraj College's highest cut-off is for Economics Honours at 98.5%.

Other colleges like Dyal Singh College's cut off mark for Computer Science is 98.33 percent and Daulat Ram College's Physics cut-off mark is 97.6 percent. Miranda House cut-off mark for BA programme in Economics Honours is 98.25%. These are the colleges with highest cut-off marks in the lists released so far.

For journalism courses, DCAC has the highest cut-off at 98.50 percent and the highest cut-off mark set for B.Com Honours is in Kirori Mal College which is 98.50.

Notably, this year, as many as 3,67,895 candidates had registered for an admission into the colleges under Delhi University on the varsity's admission portal, of which 2,58,388 made payments. The registration for admission into the colleges was open till June 22.

As stated by the registration data, of the total applicants in the unreserved category, 84,021 are female candidates and 68,457 are male candidates.

In the Scheduled Tribe category, there are 4,044 male applicants and 3,056 female applicants.

The Scheduled Caste quota category includes over 17,000 male candidates and more than 16,000 female candidates.

On the other hand, the Other Backward Class non-creamy layer quota category has 32,926 male and 22,531 female candidates.

However, this year, 5,528 male candidates, 3,562 female candidates and one candidate from the third gender applied under the newly introduced Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota.
