Diarrhoea Control Fortnight at Mawlaingut, Shillong

Shillong: “Diarrhoea is a major cause of death for children below 5 years of age” said L Blah, Mawphlang MDC while launching the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) 2018 at Mawlaingut, Diengiei, East Khasi Hills District.

Blah said that through proper sanitation and hygiene and by cultivating healthy habits diarrhoea can be prevented. He also urged the students to be the ambassadors for the campaign in spreading the message to others. This has been stated in a press release.

During the day, hand washing demonstration and use of ORS was imparted to the students. The programme was organized by the District Health Society, NHM, East Khasi Hills District and was attended by Dr JB Ranee, District MCH Officer, East Khasi Hills, O Sumer, DHEO, East Khasi Hills among others. The fortnight will be observed from till August 14.
