SHILLONG: A FIR has been filed against a pressure group of Meghalaya for forcibly closing a restroom in a shopping mall in Police Bazar on Friday.

On Saturday, the management of MarBa Hub, filed an FIR against the members of the Hynniewtrep Achik National Movement (HANM) alleging that they entered the mall forcibly and using force obstructed the entry into the restroom.

“Thereafter chaos took place in the complex wherein the staff of MarBa Hub tried to make them understand not to block the restroom which would cause serious inconvenience to the customers and employees in the mall,” the management said.

They also alleged that that the members of the HANM who illegally entered the mall also threatened the staff present in the site with dire consequences besides raising absurd claims, the MarBa Hub management said.

“The said persons further threatened that if their demands were not met they would again come back and serious consequences would follow,” the management said in its complaint.

Meanwhile, the MarBa Hub management has also urged police to post a personnel in front of the entrance into the mall even as it demanded that action against the person be taken as per law.

It may be mentioned that on Friday, members of the HANM closed down the restroom of the MarBa Hub after they got complaints that the management charged Rs 30 for using the toilet. The pressure group said that the rate is too high and was unacceptable.
