Shillong, June 1: Lieutenant General DS Ahuja, AVSM, General Officer Commanding 101 Area called on the Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma at his office on June 1. During a fruitful interaction which lasted one hour, the General Officer discussed a number of issues with the Chief Minister including civil-military liaison, internal security, disaster management, intelligence sharing and issues related to defence land encroachment. In addition, a large number of issues related to welfare of ex-servicemen were also discussed. The GOC assured the Chief Minister of the Army’s assistance to any situation demanding urgent response. This has been stated in a defence press release.
