Grandeur of Xattriya Sanskriti Darpan culture celebrated

MANGALDAI: Asom Satra Mahasabha Delhi chapter hosted its annual cultural event ‘Xattriya Sanskriti Darpan’ on December 1 at Sri Sathya Sai International Centre Auditorium Lodhi Road, New Delhi, presenting a celebration of the magnificent grandeur of Xattriya culture.

The cultural extravaganza was witnessed by an audience of distinguished scholars and patrons of art and culture. The diversified cultural event unfolded spectacular performances which enthralled the gathering. The students of Asom Satra Mahasabha Delhi’s Xattriya Sanskriti Kendra performed khol badon and Xattriya dance. Popular young singer from Assam, Nilotpal Bora displayed his wide range of Borgeet and other devotional songs.

Internationally acclaimed Xattriya exponent Adhyapak Dr. Bhabananda Barbayan directed Keligopal Naat performed by his students which was raved by the audience. Bringing further gravitas to the illustrious event was the presentation of documentary Xatra Darshan. During the event, the 4th edition of Darpan, the annual souvenir of the organization was also released. The organizers arranged Satvik dinner for everyone after the grand event.

Burha Xatradhikar of Barpeta Xatra, Bashistha Deb Sarma and Xatradhikar Hiru Prasad Mahanta of Koliabor graced the function with their benign presence. Major General Rana Pratap Kalita and Major General Ananta Bhuyan, currently serving in New Delhi, were the key persons in organizing the event in New Delhi to take the Vaishnavite Xattriya culture of Assam to the national level.
