Headless Body of Woman Found In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Sensation prevails over the discovery of the headless body of a woman in Guwahati on Wednesday. Police sources said that the headless body was recovered from steps leading to the Joy Durga mandir atop Nilachal hills. Some items used for offering puja have been recovered beside the body. The body has not been identified till the filing of this report.

Meanwhile, top police officials, including the Guwahati Police Commissioner, arrived at the spot. Investigation is on.

Meanwhile, conscious circles have expressed surprise as to how such a macabre incident took place when the Kamrup (Metro) district administration and the Guwahti Police have taken up a massive security arrangement in view of the upcoming Ambubachi Mela at the Kamakhya temple from June 22.
