Heinous act of mob lynching in Tinsukia tea estate, Mother-Son dies in mob attack

Tinsukia: A heinous act of mob lynching taking place in Tinsukia has left the entire state shaken. An angry mob has beaten up a mother-son duo harshly which has led to the tragic death of two. The incident has taken place in Tinsukia’s Shewpur Tea Estate at Rongpuria.

As identified by police, the mother-son duos are Jamuna Tanti and Ajay Tanti. Both Ajay and his mother Jamuna Tanti succumbed to their injury. As stated by the police, the mob got angry and took the ruthless step of beating the man and woman to death on finding the 23-year-old wife of Ajay dead.

Reportedly, Ajay’s wife Radha Tanti Garh was missing since Wednesday and when the villagers could finally find her dead body dumped at the septic tank, it fueled up the anger to another level. However, her two-month-old baby is yet to be traced.

As stated by the police, “After the recovery of the body, an angry mob attacked Radha’s husband Ajay and his mother Jamuna Tanti injuring them seriously. Both of them were rushed to Tinsukia Civil Hospital, where Jamuna was declared brought dead.”

Another police official adds, “We have sent the dead body of Radha for post-mortem. We suspected that Radha was murdered and her body was dumped at the septic tank. We are investigating the matter.”

At a time when the government and the social organizations are putting their efforts in diminishing the incidents of mob justice and moral policing, there seems to be no end to it. Sadly, enough, the Assam police too have been failing in putting a stop to such acts with appropriate and swift actions.

Notably, it has been just a year to the dreadful mob lynching of Abhi-Neel which is yet very fresh and traumatic for the people of the state and another tragic incident follows again.
