Indian Navy Ship Makes Second Arms Seizure

Mumbai: An Indian Navy ship deployed for anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, made a second arms seizure in six days from a fishing vessel off the coast of Somalia, a defence official said here on Friday. On Thursday, offshore patrol vessel INS Sunayna spotted a suspicious fishing vessel around 20 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia in the Horn of Africa. Indian Navy personnel boarded the ship and seized an arms cache of five rifles, including an AK-47, and 471 rounds of ammunition. After interrogating the crew for piracy-related activities, the fishing vessel was released, said Navy spokesperson Capt D.K. Sharma. (IANS)
