JAGIROAD: The Hindustan Paper Corporation (HPC) High School at Jagiroad is in dire straits following non-payment of monthly salary of the teachers.

Teachers of the Assamese medium school, under the financial control of the Nagaon Paper Mill, are rendering services without their monthly salary since the last two years. Sources said that as the production of the mill was stopped two years back and the employees are not getting their salary, the teachers of school are also not getting their salary.

This has become a cause of concern among the parents and the students of the school. Further, admission for the new academic session may not take place as the teachers are unable to render services without salary. The conscious section of society have urged upon the State Government to provincialize the school. At present more than 200 students are studying in the school with 10 teachers.
