Khasi Students’ Union felicitates meritorious students with Maitshaphrang award

SHILLONG: Aimed at encouraging students to work hard and excel in their academics, the Jaiaw Circle unit of Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) felicitated meritorious students by handing over the ‘Maitshaphrang’ award at a function held at Dinam Hall here on Saturday.

The award was handed over to students who have cleared their respective exams right from Classes IV up to SSLC, HSSLC, Degree Level and also those who got doctorates.

The former president of KSU Jaiaw Circle Eric Kharjana and general secretary of the Circle Ostarnic Marbaniang were also felicitated at the function.

The meritorious students were felicitated by Lambok Marngarm, president of the KSU central body. Marngarm was the chief guest on the occasion while Alvareen Dkhar was the the guest of honour.

The programme was also attended by headmen of different localities of Jaiaw Pyllun, students, parents beside others.

The function was convened by Mickey Jones Kharbangar, the education secretary of Jaiaw Circle.
