Khasi Students’ Union urges Prestone Tynsong to improve roads

SHILLONG: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) West and South West Khasi Hill district on Tuesday apprised the PWD (Roads) Minister Prestone Tynsong pertaining to approach roads, improvement and repair of the existing roads in different parts of West and South West Khasi Hill District. Speaking to reporters after the meeting with the Minister, John F Nongsiang president KSU West Khasi Hills District Unit said, “We want to apprise the government on the road condition in different parts of West and South West Khasi Hills district has been deteriorating.” He informed that the Minister has assured the delegation that their demand will be examined and taken up by the department.

The KSU has also demanded that there is an immediate need to improve, repair and black topping of the existing roads from Rangblang-Wahkaji-Phlangdiloin-Ranikor.

The KSU leader said that the Wahkaji-Pyndengumjarain-Nongrynniang to Nongummer village has been in a dilapidating condition for decades and thus requires an immediate corrective action from the government.

He informed that the area comprises of more than 10 villages and thousands of residents.
