Land offered free of cost for Meghalaya House in Gujarat

Shillong: The Gujarat government on Tuesday has offered land free of cost to Meghalaya for building a Meghalaya House near the site of the statue of unity.

This was informed by, Kishor Kanani, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Gujarat government.

The Gujarat Minister for Health and Family Welfare said that the government will provide land free of cost but the construction of the House will have to be borne by the state government. The Gujarat government has made similar offers to others states of the country too. The idea is for the tourists who want to visit the Statue of Unity place to stay near it. Kanani has also invited the state Governor Tathagata Roy and Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma to the unveiling of the Statue of Unity in Gujarat a monument dedicated to Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Home Minister of India.
