Mamata Banerjee Congratulates The Winners of Lok Sabha Polls After Few Hours of Counting

Guwahati: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the winners today after the first few hours of the Lok Sabha election results made amply clear that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was going return as the Prime Minister of the country.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, however, tweeted without naming any party’s name saying, “Congratulations to the winners. But all losers are not losers. We have to do a complete review and then we will share our views with you all. Let the counting process be completed fully and the VVPATs matched.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA is currently leading on over 340 seats and has made huge inroads into the TMC citadel, West Bengal. The saffron party is holding on to its lead in 15 seats in West Bengal.

The number of votes at 2 pm indicated that the NDA will return to power with the party set to sweep Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
