Mamata Banerjee holds mega political rally to uproot BJP from power

Guwahati: Country witnesses one of the biggest rallies in West Bengal today as the Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee is holding a mega rally for a grand alliance of opposition parties on Saturday. The West Bengal CM is holding this rally with an intention of announcing her party’s biggest alliances with the political parties of the nation which is going to pose as a huge threat to other political parties of the country who are not in this alliance.

The mega rally brings together more than 20 national leaders in one place which includes three present chief ministers of three major states, Arvind Kejriwal, Chandrababu Naidu and H D Kumaraswamy. Along with them, the former chief ministers Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah, Akhilesh Yadav and Gegong Apang too could be seen among the leading political leaders. Seen as an attempt at bringing together the biggest political parties of the country, this event is being named as the "United India Rally". The main aim of this rally is to unite together against the Narendra Modi-led BJP and pose a threat against the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Amid the massive participation of political leaders across the country, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have given the event a skip. But they have made sure that Congress becomes a part of the rally and have sent senior Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Abhishek Manu Singhvi.

In an effort to make the event a grand success, TMC is making sure that everything possible is done for the event. Lakhs of TMC supporters and workers from all over the country have arrived in the state to become a part of the event. The event, being organized in the outskirts of the city, makes sure that the city rush and traffic do not get to be affected by it.

To further ensure that no untoward activity takes place in the rally, a thick security blanket has been arranged.

Akhilesh Yadav, speaking at the Kolkata rally, said, "After the BSP and SP came together, the BJP are in a frenzy... they are holding meetings upon meetings... meetings upon meetings in worry on how to even win 1 seat now in Uttar Pradesh."
