Massive Traffic Plan During Ambubachi Mela In Guwahati

GUWAHATI: In sync with the Ambubachi Mela going to start from June 22, 2019 the traffic managers in Guwahati and put in a place massive traffic plan.

According to the plan, there will be restriction on movement of vehicular traffic in and around the Kamakhya temple and the surrounding areas, particularly on MG Road, DG Road, T.R. Phukan Road and the road towards the Kamakhya temple from the foothill. Devotees arc requested to walk from foothill of Kamakhya to the Mandir. All kinds of vehicles arc restricted from Kamakhya foothill. Special ferry service for differently-abled and old arc provided from Kamakhya foothill to the Mandir.

Restriction on movement and parking of vehicular traffic

(a) No inter-district and long-distance buses, including the buses operating under ASTC, will be allowed to enter on 11G. Road, MG. Road and T.R. Phukan Road in Guwahati city.

(b) No goods-carrying commercial vehicles will be allowed to enter from Jalukbari Rotary and Mahgaon and Bharalumukh on D.G. Road.

(c) No two wheelers will be allowed to enter the road leading from Kamakhya foothill to Kamakhya temple.

(d) For old people, mother with baby in arm, differently able persons, ferry cars have been arranged by the administration and for residents of Kamakhya Hill ferry cars arc arranged by the mandir committee.

(e) The material-carrying vehicles having special passes will be allowed to enter only after 12 midnight up to 7 am. As soon as the materials are unloaded, the vehicle users are directed to send back the vehicles to Kamakhya foothill.

(f) From 22.06.2019 to 26.06.2019 parking of vehicles shall not be allowed on the stretches of the roads (1) DG Road from Maligaon Chariali to Bharalumukh Point, excluding the stretches of south-eastern side of DG Road Durgasarobar Road point to iron gate near Kamakhya Rotary and North Western side of DG Road from Kamakhya Gate (Old) approach road to lion Gate near rotary and thc stretches on DG Road from Maligaon to Adabari. (2) PNGB Road from Maligaon Chariali point to Railway Station and (3) Maligaon-Pandu Road from Maligaon Chariali to Pandu.
