Mawkynrew school celebrates 50 years

SHILLONG, June 15: The Syntung Upper Primary School located at Mawkynrew constituency on Friday celebrated 50 years of service to the people of the constituency through education. The school was founded in the year 1968 by the Presbyterian Church and later the village of Syntung took over the administrative function of the school and in the 2014 the school was upgraded to secondary level. Speaking at the occasion, local MLA and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Banteidor Lyngdoh lauded the teachers of the school for their hard work and imparting quality education to the people of the area and nearby villages. The occasion was also graced by the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Mawkynrew C&RD L Tariang, village Sordar Fit Mukhim, David Kharlukhi, Planning Officer and others.
