Guwahati: Miracles do happen and proving that once again another miracle took place in the flood-affected land of Assam. An incident of a Miracle flood baby taking birth on a boat has created a sensation in Assam as the baby was born on a boat in the middle of a flooded Brahmaputra.
At a time when the entire state along with other northeastern states is reeling under flood, such an incident of a baby taking birth on a boat is something to drop the jaws. As usual, for being born on a boat, the little boy gets his name as Krishna after Lord Krishna who also bears a similar story of taking birth on a flooded night and crossing the flooded river.
The little baby Krishna was born to 24-year-old Rumi Pathori who right now is on top of the world after giving birth to a baby boy and too on such unusual conditions.
Reportedly, Rumi had started feeling her labour pain in the early hours of July 15 but was unable to get any help due to the flooded atmosphere around. However, after a number of attempts at calling for help, she finally gets a boat to go to the doctors. She, along with her husband Dulal Pathori started the boat travel from Aphola village in Mohoramukh area to Bokakhat in Golaghat. But before she gets to reach her destination, she happened to give birth to her baby on the boat itself.
The mother of the baby said, “It was raining heavily and I went into labour. We called for the doctors and nurses and an Asha nurse came. I finally gave birth in the boat. I am so happy. I have decided to name my child Krishna because he was born in the floods in the middle of the river.”
Given the complexity of the situation and the severe labour pain that she suffered from on an uncovered boat amidst the heavy rains, this is beyond the imagination of one as to what conditions she might have gone through while giving birth to the baby. This certainly is a miracle for a baby to take birth in such adverse situations.
