MLA Teras Gowala tenders Resignation in Duliajan

Guwahati: Duliajan MLA Teras Gowala resigns within hours of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal approving 36 appointments including MLAs and former chief secretaries in different posts of corporations and boards of the State.

Gowala alleged that rampant corruption is going on in the appointment for various posts in the corporation offices, thus, expressing his strong resentment, the BJP, MLA, Teras Gowalla tendered his resignation.

It is to be noted that instead of submitting his resignation letter to the Assembly Speaker, Gowala has forwarded it to State Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and the BJP party President.

Gowalla has also expressed his dissatisfaction at the appointment of Sadiya MLA, Bolin Chetia as the Chairperson of Assam Gas Company Ltd in the rank and status of Cabinet Minister.

Speaking to the media, Gowala said, “I have not informed anything about the appointment from the BJP party,” adding, “I will submit my resignation to the Speaker also in due course of time.”

Gowalla had also mentioned in his resignation letter that he was distancing himself from all responsibilities of the party with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has approved the appointment of 49 persons including MLAs and former Chief Secretaries as chairmen, vice chairmen etc of various boards, corporation and public sectors units of the State on Tuesday.
