Muster Roll workers to go hunger strike in Shillong

SHILLONG: Muster Roll workers under the banner of Jaintia Public Work Department Muster Roll Worker & Labour Union (JPWDMRW&LU) will start their indefinite hunger strike on Monday (December 17) from 10 am in the morning at the Additional Secretariat parking lot in Shillong.

The president of the Union, Khroo Lamsalanki Pariat said thatthe union has time and again given time to the state government to implement their demands however the government has till today kept silent especially to give them a fix salary every month and beside other demands.

He said that the Union has decided to move forward with their decision to stage an indefinite hunger strike at Additional Secretariat Shillong. Pariat also said that the government will not have any problem in implementing their demands because their demands was decided by the state government in the year 1996,He however said what is saddening is that the state government in unwilling to implement their demands especially government departments in Jaintia Hills.
