WOKHA: Wokha Deputy Commissioner Dr Manazir Jeelani Samoon has informed to all concerned public that due to heavy rains, the water level at Doyang Hydro Electric Project (DHEP) reservoir and Doyang River has risen considerably and the river is in spate. Therefore, all have been advised against venturing into the river for any activity like swimming, fishing, and washing clothes among others, as it may endanger lives, stated a release.

World Population Day

WOKHA: Joining the rest of the country and the State, Wokha district will observe 'World Population Day and Population Stabilization Fortnight' on the theme 'Take Responsibility towards Family Planning, prepare for wellbeing of Mother and Child' from 11 am on July 11 at the CMO Conference Hall, here. Deputy CMO Dr.Zuben Kikon will deliver the keynote address, stated a release.

Suitability test for teachers

KOHIMA: The in-service state-cadre regular graduate teachers and primary teachers who have submitted their application for upgradation to 'Post Graduate Teachers' have been informed that 'Suitability Tests' (oral interviews) will be held at Nagaland Board of School Education here from July 16 to 18. Teachers who have submitted their applications can check their names at the School Education Department's website https://education.nagaland.gov.in. The shortlisted candidates for Political Science will have to appear on July 16; those for History and English on July 17; and those for Education and Sociology on July 18. The candidates are requested to bring their original documents and certificates. No TA/DA will be admissible, stated a release.

Painting & essay-writing competitions

PEREN: The office of the Superintendent of Police, Peren will be conducting painting and essay-writing competitions on the theme 'Plastic-free Nagaland'. All the children of police personnel up to Class-XII are eligible to participate in the competition. Participants have been requested to submit their names to the office before July 11. The essays written in own handwriting and within 250 words must be submited to the office on or before July 12. The painting Competition will be held at Superintendent Office Peren from 11 am on July 15, and the participants will have to report at the venue by 10:30 am. Prizes will be given to the winners, and the winners will compete at the range level, stated a release.
