Normalcy limping back to city

Shillong, June 5: Shillong is limping back to normalcy with no untoward incident reported from the most of the violence –hit areas of Shillong on Tuesday . However, the district administration refused to take any chance. The indefinite curfew in areas under Lumdeingjri police station has not been lifted while the 4 pm to 5 am curfew continues in other parts of the city. Deployment of heavy security personal continues in the highly sensitive areas with magistrates and top security personals monitoring the situation. “The situation may have eased but we cannot afford to be complacent”, stated a senior police officer on the field, adding, that the miscreants who are always on the prowl might take advantage.
