NOTA Receives 1,57,348 Votes in Assam; 3rd Place in Eight Constituencies

Guwahati: Apart from the votes of candidates, NOTA (None of The Above) has also played an important role as 1,57,348 people have chosen to vote in this category as voters did not find any eligible candidates to cast their votes.

In Assam also, many voters have also cast their votes in NOTA and while asked they said that there is no eligible candidates to vote for which they have decided to vote for NOTA.

As per the Election Commission of India result published in its website till the publishing of this report, it has been reported that Tezpur ranked with 4^th position with 10435 votes in NOTA. Pallab Lochan Das of BJP has won the seat with 512358 votes ranked 1^st and 2^nd being Congress candidate M.G.V.K. Bhanu with 311518 votes.

In Gauhati Lok Sabha constituency, Queen Oja of BJP ranked 1^st by winning the seat with a margin of 647132 votes defeating Bobbeeta Sharma of Congress who received 500398 votes termed 2^nd while Independent candidate Upamanyu Hazarika ranked 3^rd with 14237 votes and NOTA stand in the 4^th position with 7502 votes.

In Barpeta, Abdul Khaleque of Congress has won the seat with a margin of 5,33,392 votes while Kumar Deepak Das of AGP stands at 2^nd position with 451327 votes and NOTA stands at 5^th position with 8546 votes.

In Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency, Badruddin Ajmal of AIUDF won the seat with a margin of 677807 votes while Abu Taher Bepari of Congress stood 2^nd position with 448361 votes and the number of votes counted in NOTA is 8153 which stood at 5^th position.

In Autonomous District, NOTA stand at 6^th position with 5913 votes. In this constituency Horen Singh Bey of BJP has made a victory with a margin of 3,83,637 votes while Biren Singh Engti of Congress has received 10,8341 votes.

In Nowgong Lok Sabha constituency, Pradyut Bordoloi of Congress has won the seat with 6,81,320 votes while Rupak Sarma of BJP stood at 2^nd with 6,36,045 votes and NOTA comes in 3^rd position with 9353 votes.

In Mangoldoi, NOTA stood at 4^th position with 15009 votes while Dilip Saikia of BJP has won the seat with 5,85745 seats.

In Silchar Lok Sabha constituency, NOTA stood at 3^rd position with 7948 votes while Rajdeep Roy of BJP has defeated Congress’s Sushmita Dev.

NOTA stood at 3^rd position with 12316 votes in Jorhat Lok Sabha constituency and Tapan Kumar Gogoi of BJP has made a massive victory with 5,33019 votes.

Kaliabor Lok Sabha constituency has come with 15194 votes in NOTA which stood at 3^rd and Gaurav Gogoi of Congress has made a victory with 749281 votes against AGP’s Moni Madhab Mahanta.

In Karimganj, Nota received 6671 votes with 3^rd position and Kripanath Malla of BJP has won the seat with 500409 votes against Radheshyam Biswas of AIUDF.

Naba Kumar Sarania of UPPL has made a massive victory in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha seat with 4,64,271 votes against Pramila Rani Brahma of BPF and NOTA stood at 5^th position with 14337 votes.

In Lakhimpur, Pradan Baruah of BJP has made a historic victory with 763377 votes against Anil Borgohain of Congress. Here, NOTA stood at 3^rd position with 15003.

In Dibrugarh, NOTA stood at 3^rd position with 20968 votes where Rameshwar Telly of BJP has made a massive victory with 648187 votes against Paban Singh Ghatowar of Congress.
