Obscene Content: Netflix, Amazon Prime Sued in India

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday looked for the Center's reaction on a request for the expulsion of indecent and explicitly unequivocal substance from online platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and others.

A bench of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice V. Kameswar Rao recorded the issue for further hearing on February 8.

The appeal to was documented by NGO, Justice for Rights. Promoter Harpreet S Hora, showing up for the NGO, looked for a law or rules for controlling such substance accessible on these stages.

The solicitor said online stages offered indecent, explicitly unequivocal, obscene, profane, destructive, religiously taboo and ethically dishonest substance with the end goal to pull in more endorsers and create benefit.

The NGO claimed that the greater part of the substance accessible was infringing upon the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act.
