Priyanka Gandhi to launch Campaign at Amethi and Rae Bareli From Today

Guwahati: Congress General Secretary in-charge of East Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi will visit Amethi and Rae Bareli for two days from today for the Lok Sabha election campaign.

Gandhi will hold closed-door interactions with party workers and will also meet the people of both the constituencies of Amethi and Rae Bareli on March 27 and 28 and on March 29 she will visit Ayodhya to launch campaign for Faizabad Lok Sabha seat.

Priyanka who will visit Amethi and Rae Bareli for the Lok Sabha poll campaign are the constituencies where her brother Rahul Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi will contest in the election.

In Ayodhya, she will launch campaign for Former Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Nirmal Khatri who will contest from Faizabad Lok Sabha seat.

Congress leaders in Amethi and Rae Bareli said that a grand welcome awaits Priyanka as this is her first visit to the family bastions after she has been appointed as the Congress general secretary of East Uttar Pradesh.

During her two day visit to the state, she will interact with the workers at the grassroots level and will be closely involved in leading the election campaigns.

A senior party leader also informed that Priyanka will interact with workers of every block separately.

Earlier, Congress President and Priyanka's brother Rahul Gandhi assured the people of both the constituencies of Amethi and Rae Bareli that she will soon meet the people there soon after her appointment as the general secretary in-charge of east UP.

On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to field union minister Smriti Irani from Amethi who will contest against Rahul Gandhi while the candidate for Rae Bareli is yet to be decided.
