Protest against privatization of ONGC oil fields

Joysagar: In protest against the move of privatization of many oil fields of ONGC in Sivasagar and also in support of the demand for solving various problems being faced by Sivasagar ONGC Master roll and contractual workers and labourers, the Indian National Trade Union Congress and the Sivasagar Contractual Labour Union have jointly staged a protest in front of the Sivasagar ONGC main gate on Friday.

The leaders of the two joint organizations have alleged that there are hundreds of master roll and contractual labourers and workers who are serving in ONGC drilling and production rigs for pittance, and there is no job security for such labourers. Besides, most of the works done by such temporary labourers are very dangerous and risky. But these labourers are not given the free health service facility and other security which regular employees and workers get.
