SHILLONG, July 21: The United Democratic Party (UDP) South West Khasi Hills District, president GG Bung Snaitang on Friday appraised the Minister of Education Lahkmen Rymbui on the problems faced by the teachers in South West Khasi Hills as their salary has not been released for the past four months.

“It is very disappointing to witness that the teachers within the district are facing numerous problems despite working hard to impart knowledge to the future generation of the state,” Snaitang said.

He also said that teachers in Deficit and Adhoc schools have not yet received their salary since the month of March 2018.

According to him, the reason for the problems faced by the teachers is due to the leave taken by the Sub- Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO), B. T. Diengdoh for 60 days.

“In our meeting with the education Minister he had assured that the government will take up the matter seriously concerning the problems encountered by the teachers by July 23,” he said.

The UPD president during the meeting with the Minister not only appraised the problems encountered by the Deficit and Ad- hoc teachers but also problems of the teachers under SSA schools.
