Safety Drill On Disaster Held In Two Schools of Biswanath Chariali

Biswanath Chariali: To make the schools safe for students, the 12th Battalion of the NDRF of Holongi, Arunachal in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority, Biswanath, conducted school safety drills on disaster in two schools of Biswanath Chariali, namely Sankardev Sishu Niketan and Biswanath Ghat High School on June 6 and June 7 respectively.

Altogether 20 professionals from NDRF 12th Battalion shared information on how to minimize the casualties during the time of disaster, various skills to evacuate victims, and basic first aid techniques. The NDRF team also shared information on preparation of school safety plans and their importance to build a safe school. Bhargab Baruah, DPO of DDMA, Biswanath, was present during the programmes. Addressing the gathering, he said that students in a school were very much vulnerable to a disaster if they do not have knowledge to cope with such a situation. Hence such programmes were organized, he added.
